Anxiety Support Group
Wednesday, October 17th, 2007If you have never had anxiety panic attacks, you can’t possibly know what it’s like. It stops you cold. It is the most gut wrenching, awful feeling ever. It is sort of like the feeling of awfulness distilled. An anxiety panic attack can make a normally rational person start to perspire, cause their heart to race, And send them running home in a panic. It can be so crippling, as a matter of fact, that it can be hard to get help.
When I first started suffering from anxiety attacks, I couldn’t even make it to my anxiety support group. I was becoming a shut it. Every time I would leave the house, something would trigger me. Sometimes, it would be a routine worry. I would think about whether I had left the stove on, for example. Soon, however, my idle worry would turn into panic. If I tried to goto anxiety support groups, I would worry about what people would think about me. I would get so nervous that I wouldn’t even be able to make it all the way there. Soon, I was only leaving the house when I absolutely had to.
