Determination is what gets us through life; it is what makes the difference between failure and success and how we make out in whatever we choose to do be it at work or in relationships. If you wish to succeed in life then all you need is determination and a strong character and you will be able to achieve virtually whatever you want to achieve in life. However, some of us seem to have more determination than others, for some it seems to come so very easy while for others we often feel as though we were left out when determination and will power were handed out. This is far from untrue and all you need is to look deep down inside yourself and give a tug and draw that side out, we all have it but some of us just hide it deep inside.

Drawing out determination
If you want to draw out your determination and be like others who are not afraid of facing anything or anyone, then it really isn’t all that hard. Setting goals and using such techniques as affirmations can help you get a long way in becoming more determined and more self-confident in life. A lack of self-confidence is generally what holds many of us back when it comes to going out and doing something different or trying to learn a new skill or conquer a fear. It is all a matter of bringing your confidence to the forefront and beating the shy side of your nature.

Ask yourself what you could lose by pushing yourself that little bit harder and going for something. The worst that could happen is that you wouldn’t at first succeed. But if you don’t succeed at first and there are many who don’t, then simply cast this aside and worry not about it and try again, only this time go about it a completely different way. There is no failure in trying something and having to go about it a different way, change course, there can only be failure if you give in and stop trying. This is the only time when you can fail and this you should always remember and tell yourself in moments of doubt.

When trying to bring out determination you should of course start off with an easy task. Maybe something you have been putting off for a while, it could be something in your personal life, at work, or something you wish to better about yourself such as learn a new hobby or skill. Whatever it is pick a time when you will start or attempt whatever it is you want and mark it off on the calendar with a big bold circle. As the time draws closer keep repeating affirmations that you can do this, you will be successful, stay focused and determined on a positive outcome and when the day comes just go for it. Always remember that you have got nothing to lose by trying but everything to gain by sticking with your newfound determination.

No matter what goals you are trying to achieve, it helps to get some good success tips from others who have been there, done that. So here you go – here’s to your success with these helpful tips.

•	Forget what everyone else says about not looking back and do look back, at least briefly. You need to need to know what’s worked best for you to date and what has flopped so that you can improve. Otherwise, history could repeat itself.

•	Make real plans and not just imaginary ones. Read books about business and marketing plans to learn about how professional planning is made. Then create your plans accordingly.

•	Make your goals realistic. It’s fine to ‘reach for the stars’ but remember you’re on the ground and may need a ladder or rocket. So don’t expect to leap there without the right tools and help.

•	Be responsible and take charge of your adult life. Unleash complaints silently on paper, then go out and persevere, trying over and over until things work. Find ways, get help, work towards solutions always.

•	Overcome your fears and comfort zones and strive courageously forth. Often success is just over the next hill.

•	Keep plenty of motivational tools handy to provide you inspiration throughout your day: videos, DVDs, audio recordings, articles, news clippings of local heroes and more.

•	When you run into a brick wall, don’t just turn away. Find a means to conquer it: go over it, around it, crash through it, knock it down, get a team and help each other over or build a bridge over or around it…but do something…anything…to be successful in your endeavor. Be persistent and persevere.

• Be content with your lot in life. Others have more; others have less. Make the most of what you’ve been given and encourage others to do the same. That is the essence of a rich person.

•	Take time for fun and for your relaxation. Many successful people push too hard and for too long and suffer serious setbacks or burnouts. Schedule a time out once in awhile, on a busy Monday when the rest of the world is working.

•	Get attitude adjustments as needed, just as you would shots form your doctor. For example, you will fail sometimes. Know that and don’t worry about failure. It’s a natural art of life. So is winning. Adjust and keep on moving.

Not all stress is bad stress. And once you learn how to determine which stress is acceptable and which needs to go, you’ll be better off mentally and physically. So here are some helpful tips.

1)	It helps to spend a few moments at the end of each day looking back to see where improvements can be made, so try to work this into your schedule. During this time frame, choose a calm place and time to look at the root of your any pressing stress concern or concerns of the day.

2)	Have a notebook and pencil handy to use regularly for these sessions and jot down the day’s stressors. Don’t focus on good spelling and grammar. Just write, doodle with pictures, high light things, use color markers or whatever. Have fun and let off steam, if you like, and enjoy your creativity in dealing with your stress.

3)	A helpful hint is to jot down two columns, listing your “Stressors” in one column, and “How To Handle Them Better Tips” in the other. Even in you don’t know how to handle them better, at least write them out. You can fill in blanks anywhere down the road.

4)	Then take five minutes to clear your mind and calm down after writing out your stressors. For those stressors where immediate tips for improvements come to mind, jot down the improvement in the appropriate column. For those with no help, head online and seek help at forums and via online articles, or chalk them up for researching later.

5)	Before closing up shop for the day, log your progress: if you need to research ideas for tackling a certain stressor or two (or more), go to your day planner and log research time there. And make sure to follow up.

Continue to improve your stress management by checking out library books on the topic and networking with family and other loved ones, friends, neighbors and business associates. People often discuss stress they’ve had during their days and weeks, sharing books that have helped them work through issues, television talk shows, radio programs and other helpful resources. Share yours, too, and take notes on what others have told you. In this way, you are also developing your own support network.
So reach out and give back. Don’t try to tackle all your stress management by yourself. Take a load off!
